Hundreds Apply for CBP Jobs at DHS career expo in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Department of Homeland Security Career Expo held Sept. 1-2 in Buffalo drew hundreds of job seekers interested in U.S. Customs and Border Protection careers, despite a last-minute venue change.

CBP recruitment teams reviewed hundreds of resumes, conducted interviews and made 179 on-the-spot tentative job offers to candidates. Available positions included law enforcement roles, such as border patrol agent, CBP officer and air and marine interdiction agent, as well as professional roles, including attorney, human resources specialist and management and program analyst.

Many veterans attended the event and met with CBP recruiters to discuss how their military experience could translate to careers with the agency. Many expressed interest in continuing their public service through CBP, citing a shared sense of purpose, commitment and mission that aligns with their military backgrounds.

CBP offers training, competitive pay and benefits. New CBP officers and agents may be eligible for incentive payments for certain locations. Federal hiring regulations apply to all CBP positions. U.S. citizenship is required.
